Dallas downs Texas in overtime, 3-2 (OT)

The Dallas Jr. Stars\’ Josig Rochon scored 40 seconds into overtime to beat the Texas Jr. Brahmas, 3-2 (OT).

Although Dallas was up by as many as two goals in the second period, Texas kept the game interesting by staging a comeback that ultimately fell short. The Jr. Brahmas got to within 2-1 on a goal by Dixon Whitehead at 9:46 in the third period.

Rochon had a great game for the Jr. Stars, netting two goals.

Dallas put up an impenetrable defensive front on the penalty kill, and did not allow Texas to score on any of its nine power plays. The Jr. Stars could not stay out of the penalty box, as the team accrued 24 minutes in penalties during the game.

Dallas also got a goal from Kayne Fedor as well. Other players who recorded assists for Dallas were Kody Wagner and Tyler Valentin, who contributed one each and Blake Blundred and Tommy Estenes, who each chipped in two.

The Jr. Brahmas kept Dallas\’ goalie busy throughout the game, and Chance Turner made 35 saves on 37 shots. Texas could not stay out of the penalty box, as the team accrued 30 minutes in penalties during the game.

Anthony Koslow also scored for Texas. More assists for Texas came via Jon Grimm, who had two and Chase Deacon and Conor Durkin, who contributed one each.

The Jr. Stars registered one goal on seven power play opportunities. The Jr. Brahmas\’ Joe Hacker stopped 21 shots out of the 24 that he faced.
