Dallas erases deficit to stun Sugar Land, 4-3

The Sugar Land Imperials could not hold down the Dallas Jr. Stars, and Jr. Stars erased a two-goal deficit en route to a 4-3 win.

Dallas never led in the game until netting the game winner. The Jr. Stars was down 2-0 after a goal by Sugar Land's Yves Bader at 6:16 in the second period. Dallas tied things up at 3-3 on a goal by Alex MacInnis at 19:26 in the third period. The Jr. Stars scored the game winner at 19:59 in the third period on a goal by MacInnis.

 

After the loss made the series score 1-0 in the best of three series, the Imperials face elimination next time out.

Dallas was paced on offense by MacInnis and Jake Gevaart, who combined for five points. MacInnis grabbed two goals and Gevaart also added one goal and two assists.

The Jr. Stars stifled Sugar Land's power play, and did not give up a single goal while down a man. The Imperials were unable to stop Dallas from sending pucks towards the net, and the Jr. Stars eventually piled up 45 shots on goal. Dallas' defensemen played an important role in the offense, chipping in two goals.

Dallas also got points from Raurie Petrich, who also registered one goal and one assist and Gevaart, who also racked up one goal and two assists to lead the team in points. In addition, Dallas received assists from Niko Jansen, Colin South, and Corey Burns, who contributed one each.

Sugar Land did not rack up many penalties in the contest, registering only one minor for two minutes in penalty time.

Sugar Land additionally got points from Alex Tilman, who also had one goal and one assist. More assists for Sugar Land came via Zachary Blohm, Aksel Campbell, Gregory Tishkevich, and Chance Rickel, who each chipped in one.

The Jr. Stars' Link Ferch stopped 24 shots out of the 27 that he faced. Dallas incurred eight minutes in penalty time with four minors. Colton Anderson made 41 saves for the Imperials on 45 shots. Sugar Land registered zero goals on three power play opportunities.
