JR Stars Acquire Zabeline (D)

June 16, 2015 (Dallas) The JR Stars announced the acquisition of offensive defenseman Gennnadi Zabeline from the Cincinnati Thunder. The deal was finalized last week. Zabeline is a veteran defenseman entering his final year of Junior eligibility. GM Reggie Hall made the announcement.

Zabeline (6'1", 170lbs) appeared in 46 games last season with Cincinnati and had 4G, 11A, 15P. He is an extremely good skater and has exceptional vision on the ice. With the JR Stars he is expected to log considerable time on the powerplay this coming season. 

Gennadi was born in Russia but has dual citizenship and currently resides in Atlanta. "I am very excited to play in Dallas. I think I have great opportunity to reach my full potential this season with the JR Stars" said Zabeline when contacted at his home. 

"We are counting on some big things this season from "G" and believe his acquisition today helps us tremendously" said Hall.
