Jr. Stars Complete Sweep of Spirit, Return Home to Face Ducks

Nov 16, 2016

Friday’s matchup between the Euless Jr. Stars and the College Station Spirit was a close contest, which is nothing new for these two squads.  Star forward Kayne Fedor opened the contest with his 13th goal on the season.  Fellow forward William Rooney followed with two goals of his own to give the Jr. Stars a 3-0 lead.  The Spirit answered back in the second with a goal from forward RC Randall, before Euless countered with goals from Tristan Wilson and another from forward Kayne Fedor.  College Station did not quit, however, as they scored three more times to bring the game within one, but it was not enough as they Jr. Stars prevailed 5-4.

After winning the opening matchup against the Spirit, the Jr. Stars returned home in search of the sweep.  They succeeded, as they knocked off College Station for the second time in as many days by the score of 5-3.  Forward Tristan Wilson was integral in the win for the Jr. Stars, scoring a pair of goals, his 12th and 13th of the season.  The win improves Euless’ record to 11-5-1 (23 pts).

Euless will return to the Dr. Pepper StarCenter this Thursday and Friday as they play host to the Point Mallard Ducks.  It will be the first meeting between the two teams this season.  The Jr. Stars will look to keep their momentum going, as they’ve won three of their last four contests.  For Point Mallard, they will look to keep pace in the South division as they currently sit in fourth place, seven points behind front-runner Euless.  Puck drop Thursday’s matchup will be 2 pm.  Game time for Friday’s contest will be 7:30 pm.
