Sheridan’s hat trick helped the Jr. Stars crush the Spirit 9-2

Nick Sheridan led the way with a hat trick as the Mid Cities Jr. Stars crushed the College Station Spirit 9-2 in a home game at Dr. Pepper StarCenter-Euless in Mid Cities. In addition, the Mid Cities Jr. Stars’ offense had a big night, peppering the Spirit with 50 shots throughout the game. The Mid Cities Jr. Stars took the lead before the halfway point in the third on a goal from Tyler Schulz.

Brandon Speights delivered for his team with 3 points (2 goals, 1 assist) and Travis Brain contributed with 3 points (2 goals, 1 assist). Preston Palamara chipped in with 2 points (1 goal, 1 assist) and Brenden Fehlig did his part, adding 2 assists.

In the first period, Sheridan opened the scoring for Mid Cities with a goal at 2:34 with a helper from his teammate Speights. Schulz netted a goal at 15:45 with helpers from his linemates, Brain and Greco.

In the third, Schulz put in what turned out to be the game winning goal at 5:23 with assists from his linemates, Taylor and Simpson. Ely quickly followed with a goal at 6:41 with helpers from Fehlig and Palamara. Sheridan quickly followed with a goal at 8:22 with assists from Nick and Rooney. Brain quickly followed with a goal at 8:50 with a helper from Greco. Speights scored a goal at 11:51. Sheridan quickly followed with a goal at 12:35. Palamara quickly followed with a goal at 13:24 with assists from Frado and Fehlig. Brain answered for the Jr. Stars with a goal at 16:17 with a helper from his linemate Schulz. Speights quickly followed with a goal at 18:09 with assists from Nick and Fisher.

Mid Cities’ victory was in no doubt helped out by Vanwinkle as he stopped 12 of the 14 shots he faced. Vanwinkle’s counterpart, O’toole, also had a big night, managing to stop 41 of 50, but ultimately fell short.

This win brings the Mid Cities Jr. Stars’ record to (28-15-1-0).
