Jan 26, 2018

The Mid Cities Jr. Stars' offense had a big night, peppering the Atlanta Capitals with 27 shots throughout the game. The Mid Cities Jr. Stars took the lead before the halfway point in the second on a goal from Remy Kesling.

Remy Kesling contributed with 2 points (1 goal, 1 assist). Michael Klintworth had no trouble finding the scoresheet, adding 2 points (1 goal, 1 assist) and Andrei Rusakov delivered for his team with 2 assists.

In the first period, Brain opened the scoring for the Jr. Stars with a goal at 12:15 with a helper from Kesling. Koehn deposited a goal at 14:44 with helpers from his linemates, Hutton and Sheridan. Klintworth finally put Atlanta on the board with a goal at 18:37 with an assist from Rusakov.

In the second, Nielsen netted a goal at 2:13 with helpers from his linemates, Klintworth and Rusakov. Kesling answered for Mid Cities with what turned out to be the game winning goal at 5:57 with an assist from Greco.

The Jr. Stars’ victory was in no doubt helped out by Vanwinkle’s big night as he stopped 31 of the 33 shots he faced. On the other hand, Vanwinkle’s counterpart, Konin, and Atlanta’s defense did not have such a great night stopping only 24 of 27 shots.

This win brings the Mid Cities Jr. Stars’ record to (20-10-1-0).
