The Jr. Stars defeat the Capitals 3-2

Matthew Lenz came up big, stopping 33 of 35 shots throughout the game. The Mid Cities Jr. Stars took the lead early in the third on a goal from Nick Sheridan.

Nick Sheridan had a busy night with 2 goals and Trey Rooney delivered for his team with 2 assists.

During the first period, Speights opened the scoring for the Jr. Stars with a goal at 1:23 with a helper from his teammate Rooney. Ladzinski answered for the Capitals with a goal at 10:11. Sheridan answered for Mid Cities with a goal at 12:20 with assists from his linemates, Schulz and Rooney. Klintworth answered for Atlanta with a goal at 18:21.

In the third, Sheridan answered for the Jr. Stars with what turned out to be the game winning goal at 3:32.

Mid Cities’ victory was in no doubt helped out by Lenz’s big night as he stopped 33 of the 35 shots he faced. Lenz’s counterpart, Konin, also had a big night, managing to stop 25 of 28, but ultimately fell short.

This win brings the Mid Cities Jr. Stars’ record to (2-0-0-0).
