The Jr. Stars shutout the Spirit 4-0

The Mid Cities Jr. Stars' offense had a big night, peppering the College Station Spirit with 47 shots throughout the game, to go along with Matthew Lenz's shutout. The Mid Cities Jr. Stars took the lead early in the first on a goal from Trey Rooney and never looked back.

Nick Sheridan contributed with 2 points (1 goal, 1 assist).

In the first, Rooney opened the scoring for the Jr. Stars with what turned out to be the game winning goal at 4:04. Speights put in a goal at 9:38 with helpers from Sheridan and Allen. Greco deposited a goal at 19:29 with an assist from defenseman Wright.

During the third, Sheridan netted a goal at 8:21 with helpers from Campbell and Simpson.

Mid Cities’ victory was in no doubt helped out by Lenz’s shutout, as he stopped all 39 of the shots he faced. Lenz’s counterpart, O’toole, also had a big night, managing to stop 39 of 40, but ultimately fell short.

This win brings the Mid Cities Jr. Stars’ record to (24-12-1-0).
