The Jr. Stars shutout the Spirit 6-0

The Mid Cities Jr. Stars' offense had a big night, peppering the College Station Spirit with 56 shots throughout the game, to go along with Jake Ange's shutout. The Mid Cities Jr. Stars took the lead early in the first on a goal from Mason Martin and never looked back.

Brandon Speights chipped in with 3 points (1 goal, 2 assists) and Conor Simpson did his part, adding 2 points (1 goal, 1 assist).

During the first, Martin opened the scoring for the Jr. Stars with what turned out to be the game winning goal at 3:01 with a helper from his teammate Kesling.

In the second, Simpson put in a goal at 5:29 with helpers from his linemates, Kesling and Speights. Sheridan deposited a goal at 9:29 with assists from his linemates, Smith and Martin. Schulz quickly followed with a goal at 11:10 with helpers from Simpson and Harrison.

During the third period, Hutton put in a goal at 17:38 with assists from Speights and Fugger. Speights quickly followed with a goal at 18:38 with helpers from his linemates, Sheridan and Brain.

The Jr. Stars’ victory was in no doubt helped out by Ange’s shutout, as he stopped all 10 of the shots he faced. Ange’s counterpart, Pehrson, also had a big night, managing to stop 50 of 56, but ultimately fell short.

This win brings the Mid Cities Jr. Stars’ record to (10-5-1-0).
