The Jr. Stars shutout the Spirit 7-0

Snyder Nick had a big night with 4 points (2 goals, 2 assists) as the Mid Cities Jr. Stars crushed the College Station Spirit 7-0 in a home game at Dr. Pepper StarCenter-Euless in Mid Cities. Also, Matthew Lenz posted a shutout, stopping all 13 of the Spirit shots throughout the game. The Mid Cities Jr. Stars took the lead early in the first on a goal from Conor Simpson and never looked back.

Brandon Speights chipped in with 3 points (1 goal, 2 assists) and Nick Sheridan had a busy night with 3 points (1 goal, 2 assists).

In the first period, Simpson opened the scoring for the Jr. Stars with what turned out to be the game winning goal at 1:41 with a helper from Speights.

During the second, Speights netted a goal at 5:37 with helpers from Nick and Fisher. Nick put in a goal at 9:08 with an assist from his teammate Speights. Sheridan scored a goal at 12:55 with assists from Allen and Nick. Rooney deposited a goal at 16:31 with a helper from Sheridan. Nick netted a goal at 18:50 with assists from Allen and Sheridan.

In the third, Taylor put in a goal at 18:24 with a helper from defenseman Fisher.

Mid Cities’ victory was in no doubt helped out by Lenz’s shutout, as he stopped all 13 of the shots he faced. Lenz’s counterpart, Pehrson, also had a big night, managing to stop 45 of 52, but ultimately fell short.

This win brings the Mid Cities Jr. Stars’ record to (29-15-1-0).
