Wilson nets hat trick, leads Euless to 6-2 win over Louisiana

Louisiana could not stop Euless\’ Triston Wilson, who tallied a hat trick in a 6-2 win.

Wilson got on the scoresheet 1:06 into the third period. He then added goals at 7:29 into the third and at 18:37 into the third.

Euless pulled out the victory even though it was hit with 43 penalty minutes.

Louisiana was unable to stop Euless from sending pucks towards the net, and Euless eventually piled up 40 shots on goal. Euless surpassed its usual scoring output this season. This season, Euless averages 2.4 goals per contest.

Euless also got points from Ian Linna, who also grabbed one goal and one assist. Euless also had goals scored by Kyle Dudley and Anthony Chavez, who each put in one. Other players who recorded assists for Euless were Aaron Wade, Brandon Wade, Kayne Fedor, Axel Olson, and Joshua Beatty, who contributed one each and Benjamin Kraus and Wyatt Gentry, who each chipped in two.

Louisiana was often in penalty trouble, totaling 10 minors and two majors for 60 minutes in penalty time. The total exceeded the 24.0 minutes per game Louisiana had been spending in the box. Louisiana\’s offense rang up 31 shots on Euless\’ net.

Louisiana was helped by Davis VanGemerden, who had two goals. VanGemerden scored the first of his two goals at 4:57 into the second period to make the score 2-1 Louisiana. VanGemerden\’s next tally made the score 3-1 Louisiana with 4:30 left in the second period. Jeremy Brown also scored for Louisiana. More assists for Louisiana came via Kolton Huff and Ian Hale, who contributed one each.

Beatty recorded 29 saves for Euless. Euless registered three goals on nine power play opportunities. Louisiana\’s Sean Angle stopped 34 shots out of the 39 that he faced. Louisiana registered one goal on seven power play opportunities.
