Dallas outlasts Sugar Land, 5-3

The game between the Dallas Jr. Stars and the Sugar Land Imperials was tight through all 60 minutes, but in the end Dallas emerged with a 5-3 win.

No lead was more than two goals during the contest, and the winning goal was scored by Blake McIntyre at 10:53 of the third period.

McIntyre had a great game for the Jr. Stars, netting two goals.

Dallas pulled out the victory even though it was hit with 29 penalty minutes.

Sugar Land was unable to stop the Jr. Stars from sending pucks towards the net, and Dallas eventually piled up 46 shots on goal.

Others who scored for Dallas included Brandon Salisbury, Stephen Smith, and Jake Gevaart, who scored one goal each. In addition, Dallas received assists from Zak Cassano, who had two, Corey Burns, who had three, and Cam Choate, Alex Cyrenne, Raurie Petrich, and Tommy Stock, who each chipped in one.

The Imperials\’ offense rang up 34 shots on the Jr. Stars\’ net.

Sugar Land was led by Aksel Campbell, who had two goals. Campbell scored the first of his two goals at 10:53 into the second period to make the score 1-0 Sugar Land. Alex Tilman assisted on the tally. Campbell\’s next tally made the score 2-2 with seven seconds left in the second period. A checking from behind penalty on Gevaart had put the Imperials on the power play. Tilman picked up the assist. Matthew Winkle also scored for Sugar Land. More assists for Sugar Land came via Jonathon Benavides, who had two and Dylan Edwards and Chance Rickel, who contributed one a piece.

Chris Mallon recorded 31 saves for Dallas. The Jr. Stars registered two goals on five power play opportunities. Sugar Land\’s Colton Anderson stopped 41 shots out of the 46 that he faced. The Imperials totaled 15 minutes in penalty time with five minors and one major and went 1-for-7 on the power play.
