Euless holds on for 5-3 win against Louisiana

Louisiana tried to dig itself out of a three-goal hole, but Euless held on for a 5-3 victory.

A goal by Kayne Fedor put Euless up 5-2 in the third period, but Louisiana pulled to within two on Timothy Zittel\’s tally 8:29 into the third period.

Triston Wilson had a great game for Euless, netting two goals. Wilson found the back of the net 3:14 into the first period to make the score 1-0 Euless and again while 2:48 into the third to make the score 4-2 Euless.

Euless forced Louisiana\’s goalies to work hard to keep the puck out of the net, ripping 37 shots and forcing 32 saves. Logan Quebedeaux made 25 stops and Sean Angle made seven. Euless\’ penalty kill was spotless, allowing no goals on three Louisiana power plays. Euless found the back of the net more times than it usually has this season. Euless averages 2.5 goals per game.

Euless also got points from Aaron Wade, who also registered one goal and one assist. Other players who recorded assists for Euless were Nick Snyder, who had two, Benjamin Kraus, who had three, and Trent Wolter, Wyatt Gentry, and Cross Fresquez, who contributed one each.

Louisiana kept Euless\’ goalie busy throughout the game, and Everett Yasinski made 30 saves on 33 shots.

Louisiana was helped by Ian Hale, who tallied one goal. Hale scored 8:49 into the first period to make the score 1-1. Zittel assisted on the tally. Louisiana additionally got points from Zittel, who also had one goal and one assist. Jacob Istre also scored for Louisiana.

Euless incurred six minutes in penalty time with three minors. Louisiana ended with 29 minutes in penalty time with two minors and one major. For Louisiana, Evan Hale was ejected from the game.
