Euless Jr. Stars complete 3-game sweep of Lousiana Drillers, look to Brahmas Thursday

Oct 4, 2016

The Jr. Stars won all three games during their road trip to Lafayette.  Game 1 on Oct 1st saw Euless emerge victorious by a score of 5-2.  Game 2 was a little more competitive as the Drillers remained close falling 5-4, while Game 3 required some late-game heroics from Fedor Kayne as the forward scored with seven seconds remaining to cement the three game sweep of Louisiana.

Kayne was instrumental in the sweep, scoring five goals over the three matchups.  Goalie Austin Knoebel was solid between the pipes recording 96 saves on 107 attempts on goal.

The 3-game sweep improves the Jr. Stars record to 6-2 on the season.

The Jr. Stars (6-2) and the Texas Jr. Brahmas (3-1) will play a home and home series this Thursday and Friday.  The two teams have already met twice this season with the road team stealing a victory both times.  Game time for Thursday’s matchup is 2 p.m. at the Dr. Pepper StarCenter in Euless.  Game 2 of the series will take place at the NYTEX Sports Centre in North Richland Hills at 7:35 p.m. on Friday.
