Jr. Stars Shine with Offensive Explosion, Rest Up for Rematch with Spirit

Oct 26, 2016

The Euless Jr. Stars racked up ten goals last Friday on their way to a 10-3 victory over the College Station Spirit.  It was a season-high for the Jr. Stars, as they took the first of two games against the Spirit.  Forward Kayne Fedor opened the contest with his 12th goal this season.  Fellow offensive running mate Thomas Delaney followed that up with a goal just 37 seconds later to give the Jr. Stars an early lead.  Things kept getting better for Euless, as they lit the lamp eight more times on the afternoon.

Saturday’s matchup was more competitive, as the Spirit pulled out a narrow 7-6 victory over the Jr. Stars.  Euless started strong once again, leading after the first period 3-0.  The Spirit lived up to their name, however, and battled back in the second, bringing the game within one.   Euless added a trio of goals after the run by College Station, and led after two periods, 6-3.  The final period was one to forget for Euless though, as they surrendered four goals to the Spirit, dropping the second game 7-6.  The contest featured six different goal scorers for the Jr. Stars, while Forward RC Randall was huge for the Spirit, tallying five points on the night (2 G, 3 A).

Euless will receive a much needed break before home and home games are played with College Station the weekend of November 11th, 12th, and 13th.  It will be the fourth, fifth, and sixth time the two squads have met this season, the Jr. Stars leading the season series 2-1.  Euless will look to keep the offensive fireworks going, as they’re averaging 4.6 goals per game thus far.  Friday’s game is scheduled for 7:30 pm at the Spirit Ice Arena in College Station.  Game 2 on Saturday will be in Euless at the Dr. Pepper StarCenter and is slated for a 7:30 pm start time.  The Final game of the series returns to College Station as puck drop is at 5:30 pm.
