Dec 16, 2013

(December 16, 2013) The Dallas Jr Stars are happy to report that center Raurie Petrich has made a commitment to attend Aurora University next season and will play for the Spartans in the Northern Collegiate Hockey Association (DIII). The announcement comes just three weeks after the NA3HL Showcase in Romeoville, IL. Petrich leads the Jr Stars in scoring with 5 goals, 17 assists and 22 points headed into the final game before the holiday break.

Aurora Assistant Shaun Falzone confirmed that he was asked by the Stars' coaching staff to make it a point to watch the team play during the Showcase. Falzone said, "During the game I noticed Petrich was working hard at both ends of the ice. Even when the team was down he was giving it his all. Raurie is the type of player, on and off the ice, that will represent Aurora University well. Coach Buchanan and I are excited and honored to have Raurie commit to our University. I look forward to building a relationship with the Jr Stars' organization."

Congratulations Raurie!

In just the team's fourth month of existence the Jr Stars have already moved two players to the NAHL and now one to the the collegiate ranks. For more information about the Jr Stars organization please contact Reggie Hall, GM at rhall@starsjrhockey.com.
