June 28, 2014 – The Stars today announced the signing of another local player as Wyatt Gentry (F) was signed for the 2014/15 season. Gentry, a Keller, Texas resident played this past season with Keller High School and the Dallas Jr Stars 18U squad. The quick skating and versatile winger stands 5\’10\” and weighs in at 170 lbs.

Gentry is a gifted forward who is a constant threat to put the puck in the net. While skating with his High School team, he potted 17G, 18A and 35P. He logged 22 minutes in penalties in the High School league as Keller advanced to the State Championship final. With the Stars 18U squad Gentry managed 6G, 6A, and 12P. He also had 34 minutes in penalties.

Gentry has been with the Stars\’ youth organization for the past four seasons and was coached by Stars\’ GM Reggie Hall for the past two years. Hall also coached Gentry for his first two seasons at Keller. Hall said, \”Wyatt has matured tremendously in the past four years and become a real offensive threat every time he touches the ice. He has always been a strong skater with breakaway speed, but the last two years Wyatt has worked to improve his situational awareness and defensive zone coverage. He hits, he skates, has a cannon for a shot and is solid in all three zones. He is as well rounded as you could ask for in a player.\”

The Stars are very happy to add another local player to our roster.
