Texas downs Dallas in overtime, 3-2 (OT)

The Texas Jr. Brahmas pulled out a 3-2 (OT) overtime victory over the Dallas Jr. Stars on a clutch goal by John Severson.

 

Dallas was unable to stop Texas from sending pucks towards the net, and the Jr. Brahmas eventually piled up 48 shots on goal.

More assists for Texas came via Nick Nitta, who had two and Kurt Thiele, who had three.

Texas' defense shut down the Jr. Stars' forwards for much of the game, and Dallas got off only 13 shots during the contest.

The Jr. Stars were helped by Wyatt Gentry, who finished with one goal. Gentry scored on the power play 3:47 into the third period to make the score 2-1 Dallas. An elbowing penalty on Nitta had put Dallas on the power play. Travis Hall picked up the assist. Jake Fernow also scored for Dallas. In addition, Dallas received assists from Kody Wagner, who had one.

Quinton Reynolds recorded 11 saves for the Jr. Brahmas. Texas incurred eight minutes in penalty time with four minors. The Jr. Stars' Chris Mallon stopped 45 shots out of the 48 that he faced. Dallas totaled 33 minutes in penalty time with four minors and one major and went 1-for-3 on the power play.
