The Jr. Stars crushed the Ducks 5-1

Nick Vanwinkle came up big, stopping 26 of 27 shots throughout the game. The Mid Cities Jr. Stars took the lead early in the second on a goal from Trey Rooney.

Matthew Taylor chipped in with 2 goals and Trey Rooney contributed with 2 goals.

In the first, Rooney opened the scoring for the Jr. Stars with a goal at 5:06. Green answered for Point Mallard with a goal at 8:43 with helpers from his teammates Udris and Chun.

In the second, Rooney answered for Mid Cities with what turned out to be the game winning goal at 2:09 with an assist from Koehn. Taylor deposited a goal at 6:54 with helpers from Nick and Brain. Schulz put in a goal at 19:23 with assists from Speights and Nick.

In the third period, Taylor netted a goal at 7:47 with helpers from his linemates, Speights and Schulz.

The Jr. Stars’ victory was in no doubt helped out by Vanwinkle’s big night as he stopped 26 of the 27 shots he faced. Vanwinkle’s counterpart, O’shaughnessy, also had a big night, managing to stop 26 of 31, but ultimately fell short.

This win brings the Mid Cities Jr. Stars’ record to (26-12-1-0).
