The Jr. Stars defeat the Drillers 4-2

The Mid Cities Jr. Stars' offense had a big night, peppering the Louisiana Drillers with 31 shots throughout the game. The Mid Cities Jr. Stars took the lead before the halfway point in the second on a goal from Matt Hutton.

In the first, Hutton opened the scoring for the Jr. Stars with a goal at 12:17 with assists from his teammates Koehn and Nosov. Matthews netted a goal at 16:05 with helpers from his linemates, Schulz and Hutton.

During the second, Hutton put in what turned out to be the game winning goal at 11:08 with assists from Sheridan and Harrison. Vukasin finally put Louisiana on the board with a goal at 16:25 with a helper from defenseman Smith.

In the third period, Wotta deposited a goal at 6:18 with assists from Morgan and Morgan. Brain answered for Mid Cities with a goal at 13:38 with helpers from Nick and Hutton.

The Jr. Stars’ victory was in no doubt helped out by Ange as he stopped 19 of the 21 shots he faced. Ange’s counterpart, Varricchio, also had a big night, managing to stop 27 of 31, but ultimately fell short.

This win brings the Mid Cities Jr. Stars’ record to (13-5-1-0).
