The Jr. Stars defeat the Ducks 4-2

The Mid Cities Jr. Stars' offense had a big night, peppering the Point Mallard Ducks with 37 shots throughout the game. The Mid Cities Jr. Stars took the lead early in the second on a goal from Brandon Speights.

Brandon Speights contributed with 3 points (2 goals, 1 assist) and Nick Sheridan had no trouble finding the scoresheet, adding 2 goals. Regnars Udris chipped in with 2 goals.

In the first, Speights opened the scoring for the Jr. Stars with a goal at 8:32 with a helper from his linemate Koehn. Sheridan put in a goal at 15:21 with an assist from his teammate Speights.

During the second period, Speights netted what turned out to be the game winning goal at 4:00 with a helper from Hutton.

In the third, Udris finally put the Ducks on the board with a goal at 11:45 with an assist from Trombly. Udris scored a goal at 19:08 with a helper from Chun. Sheridan quickly followed with a goal at 19:42.

Mid Cities’ victory was in no doubt helped out by Lenz’s big night as he stopped 51 of the 52 shots he faced. Lenz’s counterpart, O’shaughnessy, also had a big night, managing to stop 33 of 36, but ultimately fell short.

This win brings the Mid Cities Jr. Stars’ record to (21-10-1-0).
