The Weekend Preview: Sights Set Forward

Dec 2, 2021

With full bellies and rejuvenated spirits the Jr. Stars set their sights on the undefeated Texas Brahmas this weekend for a two game series at the NYTEX Sports Centre in North Richland Hills.

The Mid-Cities squad secured two wins in their last road trip to Georgia before the the Thanksgiving break with scores of 7-5, 5-1, and 6-2 as the Jr. Stars dropped the middle game of the series.

The weekend was great for Jr. Stars forward A.J. Machado as he picked up eight points and his first hat-trick of the 2021-2022 campaign Sunday night as he is starting to compliment his assists with lighting the lamp.

For the Brahmas, they have continued their dominance over the South Division as they won last week against the Austin Ice Bats with a combined goal differential for the series of 21 to 1.

Brahmas defenseman Joey Carollo has been named Bauer Hockey NA3HL Defenseman of the Month for the month of November with forward Benjamin Mondou collecting South Division Star of the Week for his play last weekend.

It will be no small task for the Jr. Stars this weekend, but they enter this weekend with 14 points sitting 6th in the South Division standings, 5 points behind Oklahoma City Ice Hawks for the final playoff position. It is a 7:05 start time for both Friday and Saturday.
